Basketball

The Cor Jesu College (CJC) alumni successfully organized the Season 1 of the Sacred Heart Basketball League last March 1, 2025. The friendly tournament was spearheaded by the alumni community, with the primary goal of reconnecting former batchmates through sportsmanship and camaraderie. The event was highlighted by the participation of Batch 1997, who enthusiastically engaged in the friendship game. Before the match began, a blood pressure (BP) monitoring session was conducted to ensure the players’ safety. This was facilitated by Cherry Geromo (Batch 1993, Medical Committee), demonstrating the event’s commitment to health and well-being. Among those who had their BP checked was Sergio Bardos (Batch 1992), a former CAT Corps Commander, as well as Elmer Suela, who served as the team captain during the Sacred Heart Basketball League – Season 1. The opening ceremony was a momentous occasion, marked by the traditional toss led by Coach Babbles Senarillos, the tournament manager and a proud alumnus of CJC Batch 1993. His leadership and dedication contributed to the seamless execution of the event, ensuring an exciting and memorable experience for all participants. This basketball league not only fostered a spirit of friendly competition but also strengthened the bond among alumni, celebrating their shared history and lifelong connections.
